Welcome to Runabot Documentation#
Runabot is a multi-tenant hosting solution for AI assistants such as OpenClaw.
We provide a turnkey platform for deploying and managing AI bots–without requiring any DevOps knowledge.
Features#
- Isolated Environments: Each bot runs in a secure Kubernetes Pod.
- Web Terminal: Full shell access to your bot from any browser.
- Backups: Automated backups via Velero. You can create a new bot from any backup.
- OIDC Authentication: Secure login with Google, Microsoft, or email.
Roadmap#
Here’s where we are and where we’re heading:
- MVP – Core platform with bot deployment, web terminal, and user management
- Backup & Restore – Full bot state backup with one-click restore
- Own Inference Infrastructure – Self-hosted LLM for unlimited, private inference
- Network Security & Prompt Injection Protection – Enhanced isolation and AI safety measures
- First Paying Customers – Launch subscription plans and onboard early adopters
- Trillion-Parameter Model – Scale to a state-of-the-art open-source model as community grows
Who We Are#
We are two IT engineers, each with over 15 years of experience in software engineering and DevOps.
We live in Germany and work at IT companies in high-rank technical roles. Runabot is our hobby project, currently used by friends and family. We built it to scratch our own itch – and we think others will find it useful too.
Our Vision#
“Together we are strong”
Our aim is to build a community of bot users–both private individuals and businesses–who share common values: privacy, cost efficiency, and independence from commercial AI providers.
Together, we will run inference of a large, “smart” open-source model that provides a great bot experience. This approach solves many challenges:
| Challenge | Solution |
|---|---|
| GDPR Compliance | Data stays in Germany, ensuring EU compliance for individuals and businesses alike. |
| LLM Cost & Limits | No subscription caps means your bot is always available. |
| Privacy | Your conversations remain private, not used for training. |
